Too old to study medicine?

hello everyone, i just wanted some honesty from the world. i am 26 yrs old and always wanted to study medicine. I never perused medicine because i spent years taking care of my parents. unfortunately, a year ago one of my parents passed away and i am thinking that i might be too late to get into this study. please be brutally honest to answer this question! I would greatly appreciate any advice, opinion or suggestion. :)
